FOOTNOTE: During Territorial years Arizona switched to “Phoenix Time.” There was a long-running debate whether or not the territorial was more closely tied to California, or New Mexico (and the Santa Fe Railroad.) A compromise was finally reached, “Phoenix Time,” where they split the difference, putting us half hour after Pacific time and a half an hour before Mountain Time
Today, Arizona and Hawaii are the only states that don’t have DST. In Arizona the Navajo Reservation observes DST.
