The gist of it was that the camels had made their way north as far as Castle Hot Springs and roamed that area for a time. I have always been very skeptical of it, since a camel's feet were not designed to be at home in the extremely rocky terrain around CHS. Have you ever run across anything that would suggest that there's any truth to that tale?
